Terms of Use
Last updated: June 4, 2026
Welcome to FiaskoTown. By creating an account or using the site, you're agreeing to these terms. Please read them — they're plain-language and short.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use FiaskoTown. If you're between 13 and 18, by registering you confirm a parent or guardian has agreed to these terms on your behalf.
2. Your account
You're responsible for what happens under your account, including keeping your password secret. If you think someone else got access, change your password from Account settings right away.
3. Your content
You keep ownership of the subtitles, titles, and comments you post. By posting them, you grant FiaskoTown a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and adapt them as needed to operate the site (for example, embedding subtitles into the video, generating share previews, or showing your content in feeds and search results). This license ends when you delete your content, except for copies kept for legitimate operational reasons (backups, audit logs, etc.).
4. What you can't post
FiaskoTown is for absurd, silly, hilarious subtitles. It is not for:
- Harassment, bullying, threats, or hate speech targeting individuals or protected groups
- Sexual content, especially anything involving minors (which is also illegal — we will report it)
- Content that promotes violence, self-harm, or illegal activity
- Content that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, or other rights
- Personal information about other people (doxxing) or impersonation
- Spam, scams, malware, or phishing links
We may remove any content that violates these rules, with or without notice, and may suspend or close your account if you violate them repeatedly or seriously.
5. Reporting & moderation
If you see something that breaks rule 4, contact us (see Section 11). We review reports and take action when warranted. We're a small operation, so response times will vary, but we take this seriously — especially anything involving minors or threats of violence.
6. Copyright (DMCA)
FiaskoTown's video templates are short clips of obscure foreign commercials, used for commentary, parody, and transformative purposes. If you are a rights holder and believe your work is being used without authorization, send a notice to dmca@fiaskotown.com including: the work identified, the URL on FiaskoTown, your contact info, a good-faith statement that the use isn't authorized, a statement under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate, and your physical or electronic signature. We'll review and remove infringing content promptly.
7. Our intellectual property
The FiaskoTown name, logo, and site design are ours. The video templates remain the property of their original creators; we make them available for your subtitling within the site but you don't get any rights to redistribute the original videos themselves outside of the Fiasko format.
8. As-is, no warranties
FiaskoTown is provided as-is, free of charge, with no warranties of any kind. Things may break. Data may occasionally be lost. We make no guarantees about uptime, content availability, or that the site will continue to exist forever.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, FiaskoTown and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site, or for content posted by other users. If we are found liable for direct damages despite the rest of this section, our total liability is capped at $50 USD or the amount you've paid us in the past 12 months, whichever is greater (and since FiaskoTown is free, that's $50).
10. Changes & termination
We may update these terms from time to time; the "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent change. We may also suspend or close any account at our discretion for AUP violations. You can close your account at any time by emailing the contact below.
11. Contact
Questions, takedown requests, or anything else: contact@fiaskotown.com.
These terms are written in plain language to be readable, not as formal legal advice. If you need a fully bulletproof Terms of Use for a commercial venture, have a lawyer review it.
